Virupaksha Temple

The Virupaksha Temple is in Pattadakal, which acted as the second capital of the Chalukyas. It was built by Lokamahadevi, the chief queen of Vikramaditya II, to celebrate victory over the Pallavas. The grand temple features an imposing Nandi statue.

Rani Ki Vav

A UNESCO World Heritage site, this 11th century stepwell was built by Queen Udayamati in memory of her husband, King Bhimdev I. The stepwell stands on the bank of the Saraswati River and is a fine specimen of the Maru-Gujara style of architecture.

Lal Darwaza Masjid

Located in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur, it is one of the prime attractions and known for its stunning and elegant architecture. It was built in 1573 by Queen Rajye Bibi as a tribute to her spiritual teacher Saint Sayyid Ali Dawood Kutubuddin.

Humayun's Tomb

Another UNESCO World Heritage site, the noted Humayun Tomb was built by Mughal empress Biga Begum (Hajji Begum), in 1569-70, 14 years after the king's death, at a cost of Rs 1.5 million.

Shri Mohinishwara Shivalay

The iconic Lord Shiv temple in Gulmarg dates back to 1915. It was constructed by Maharani Mohini Bai Sisodia. The temple features a bright red foot and stands as a landmark against peaks. It is also known as Rani Ji Temple or Maharani Shankar Temple.

Mirjan Fort

Situated on the banks of the Aghanashini River, this beautiful fort was constructed by Queen Chennaibhairadevi of Gersoppa. This first served as a location for shipping pepper, which was one of Queen's primary businesses.

Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah

The tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah is a beautiful site in Agra and was built by Mughal empress Nur Jahan. It was initially supposed to be built in silver but the empress anticipated theft and decided to construct it in marble.
