Giant Panda

The giant panda can sleep for as much as 12 hours a day, but not at once. This is mostly due to its main food source, bamboo. Since it is not nutritious they have to consume large quantities of it. So the time that isn’t spent eating, would be spent sleeping.

Lion

It seems unlikely but the top predator can sleep up to 20 hours a day and spend most of its time basking in the sunlight, and grooming themselves.

Sloths

The slow moving animals are well known for being lazy. Sloths can spend more than 80 per cent of their day sleeping.

Hippopotamus

Hippos are also known to be lazy and not picky about where they sleep, could be on land or water. They can sleep for up to 20 hours a day.

Opossums

Opossums are scavengers and are said to be very good for the environment, but that does not stop them from being lazy as they can sleep for around 18 hours a day.

Koala

The tree hugging animal can sleep for as much as 20 hours a day, mostly because of its eucalyptus diet which has limited nutrients and calories.
