Milk has remained a compulsory part of our diet for centuries, and is a good source of nutrition. However, there are a lot of theories around milk that are not completely true. Here are five myths about milk which need to be debunked:

1. Milk Increases Weight

The type of milk that one drinks determines if it will increase weight or not. The milk consumed after removing the cream does not aid in weight gain.

2. Boiling Milk Reduces Its Nutrients

It is believed that milk loses its nutrients when it is boiled. However, this is untrue since boiling is necessary to make milk healthy and drinkable.

3. Milk Removes Calcium From Bones

It has not been scientifically proven that milk leaches calcium. In fact, milk is a great source of calcium and is important for the health of bones.

4. Milk Produces Mucus

It is also believed by some that drinking milk produces mucus. Though consuming skimmed milk can increase phlegm in case of cough, it does not produce mucus.

5. Milk Leads To Acne

Scientific evidence does not establish any direct causative relationship between consumption of milk and acne.
