Indians never compromise on flavour. It’s a tradition to serve meals in India with chutneys and pickles to add taste and flavour. Here are 5 pickles you can enjoy during the winter:

Carrot (Gajar) Pickle

Carrot is our favourite winter veggie because of ‘gajar ka halwa’. However, there’re more reasons to like this seasonal vegetable. You may use this vegetable to make pickle. Carrot pickle pairs well with almost any meal because of its tart and sweet taste.

Indian Gooseberry (Amla ) Pickle

It’s spicy and has a tangy flavour. It’s made in thirty minutes with Indian gooseberry, oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and red chilli powder.

Radish (Mooli) Pickle

For those who enjoy spices, here’s another wintertime treat. Made with green chillies and thickly sliced radish, this pickle adds an explosion of flavour to every meal. Fennel seeds, red chilli powder, lemon juice, cumin, kalonji, asafoetida, and dry mango powder are used to season radish pickle.

Cauliflower Pickle

Comprising an abundance of spices, jaggery, salt, vinegar, cauliflower, turnips, and mustard oil, it complements all savoury dishes, such as dal-rice and parathas. You can refrigerate this pickle for up to 15 days.

Ginger (Adrak) Pickle

Ginger is a saviour during winter as it keeps us warm and guards against seasonal illnesses and cold. Ginger pickle is one of the simplest to make. It only requires five ingredients: ginger, green chilli, lemon, salt, and vinegar.
