According to the data published by the World Population Review, 1 in every 15 adults in any given year, and 1 in 6 people will experience depression at some point in their lives. Here are 10 countries, as per WHO estimates, with the highest depression rates. Take a look:

10. Lithuania

The European country stands in tenth place with a depression rate of 5.6%.

9. Finland

Officially known as the Republic of Finland, the Nordic country in Northern Europe stands in ninth place with a depression rate of 5.6%.

8. Belarus

With a depression rate of 5.6%, Belarus stands in eighth place on the list.

7. Portugal

Portugal stands in seventh place, with a depression rate of 5.7%.

6. Greece

In the sixth position stands Greece, with a 5.7% depression rate.

5. Brazil

Making its way into the top 5 countries, Brazil, with a 5.8% depression rate, is in fifth position.

4. Australia

With a 5.9% depression rate, Australia stands in fourth place.

3. Estonia

Estonia stands in third place with a 5.9% depression rate.

2. United States

One of the most powerful countries, the US also has a 5.9% depression rate.
