Every year before the monsoon starts, Mumbai hosts the festival of natural lights — the Fireflies Festival. In May and June, these bioluminescent beetle bugs become visible as they attract partners, producing a spectacular spectacle. 

Purushwadi 

Purushwadi is located near Maharashtra, close to the village of Pachnai. It offers stunning views of natural scenery in the backdrop of fireflies. 

Samrad 

Samrad village, located at the base of Ratangad and Sandhan Valley, provides a chance to witness fireflies in their natural habitat. 

Bhandardara 

The hill station, Bhandardara is tucked away at an elevation of 3000 feet, which transforms into a firefly playground as dusk sets in. 

Rajmachi Fort 

Rajmachi Fort is a symbol of Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage. The fort is engulfed in mist and fog during the monsoon season and is also a good place to see fireflies. 

Kothaligad Fort 

As the night grows, Kothaligad Fort becomes a playground for fireflies. The place is famous for its night trek during winters and summers.
