Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and his son, Arjun, became the first father-son duo to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, April 17, after Arjun made his debut for Mumbai Indians.

In his IPL debut, 23-year-old Arjun opened the bowling against Kolkata Knight Riders, conceding 17 runs in the first two overs before being taken off. Here is the list of most famous father-son duos from the world of Cricket. 

Roger Binny and Stuart Binny

Former India all-rounder and current BCCI president Roger Binny played in 27 Tests and 72 ODIs for India and was part of 1983 World Cup-winning side. His son Stuart Binny played in 6 Tests, 14 ODIs and 3 T20I matches for India apart from 95 IPL games. 

 Kevin Curran and Sam Surran

Former Zimbabwe all-rounder Kevin Curran played in 11 ODIs for his country. His son Sam Curran is the most expensive player in history of IPL, bought for Rs 18.5 crore by Punjab Kings. Sam Curran has played in 24 Tests, 23 ODIs and 38 T20I matches for England so far.

Sachin Tendulkar and Arjun Tendulkar

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar scored over 34,000 international runs including 100 centuries. Sachin's son Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 and picked up his maiden wicket on Tuesday.

Chris Broad and Stuart Broad

Former England batter Chris Broad played in 25 Tests and 34 ODI while his son and paceman Stuart Broad has turned out in 161 Tests, 121 ODIs and 56 T20I for England. Chris Broad is a ICC match referee now while Stuart Broad has 576 Test scalps to his name. 

 Sunil Gavaskar and Rohan Gavaskar

Former India opener Sunil Gavaskar scored over 10,000 runs in Test cricket. His son Rohan Gavaskar played in 11 ODIs for India and 2 IPL matches. Both of them are working as sports commentators now.
