Places Outside Earth Where Water is Present

1. Mars

Although in a frozen state, water ice has been found on Mars, both at its polar ice caps and beneath the surface. Liquid water might exist temporarily in briny flows called "recurring slope lineae."

2. Europa (Jupiter's moon)

Europa is believed to have a subsurface ocean beneath its icy crust. This ocean might contain more than twice the amount of water found on Earth. It's considered a strong candidate in the search for extraterrestrial life.

3. Enceladus (Saturn's moon)

This moon ejects plumes of water vapour and ice particles from its south pole. These plumes suggest the presence of a subsurface ocean with hydrothermal activity, making it another potential location for life.

4. Ganymede (Jupiter's moon)

Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system and is believed to have a subsurface ocean beneath its icy shell. The ocean might be in contact with a rocky seafloor, another potentially habitable environment.

5. Ceres (Dwarf planet in the asteroid belt)

Ceres, the largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, has water ice on its surface and possibly a subsurface layer of briny water. It might have an internal ocean, carrying more water even than Earth.

6. Titan (Saturn's moon)

Although water on Titan's surface is mostly frozen due to its extremely cold temperatures, there are lakes and seas of liquid methane and ethane. These hydrocarbon liquids play a role similar to water on Earth.

7. Pluto

Recent discoveries suggest that Pluto might have a subsurface ocean beneath its icy shell. This ocean could have important implications for the dwarf planet's geological and atmospheric processes.

8. Moon:

Water has already been discovered on Moon's south pole. The biggest mission of India's Chandrayaan-3 mission is to further gather evidence of water's presence on the Moon so that it can be extracted later and turned into rocket fuel.
