A new study by Israel’s University of Haifa has revealed that a person’s handwriting can reveal their mood.
The study included 62 participants who were divided into three groups and made to watch movies to put them in a specific mood–positive, negative, and neutral.
They were then asked to write a paragraph on a computerised system to study the changes in their handwriting.
Researchers found that the letters of participants who were in a negative mood were much lower than the rest.
It was also found that the participants in negative moods wrote quickly and their letters were narrower in width when compared to those in positive or neutral moods.
The researchers explained that a negative mood can create a cognitive burden on the brain, leading the participants to subconsciously change their handwriting.
