1. Jaundice

Jaundice causes the skin and the whites of the eyes to take on a yellowish hue. This occurs due to an excess of bilirubin in the bloodstream which indicates that the liver may not be functioning properly.

2. Abdominal Pain

Children with liver problems may experience persistent abdominal pain, often located in the upper right quadrant where the liver is situated.

3. Fatigue

Liver dysfunction can lead to a decrease in energy levels and overall weakness in children. They may appear more tired than usual.

4. Poor Growth

If a child experiences unexplained weight loss or fails to thrive and grow at the expected rate, it could be a sign of liver issues.

5. Swelling

Liver problems can cause fluid buildup in the abdomen or legs. Children may develop a swollen belly or puffy legs, ankles, or feet due to the accumulation of fluid.
