Melons are seasonal fruits that are an integral part of the summer diet. They are sweet and delicious.
They are also great for hydration as they have a high water content and protect us from the scorching heat of summer.
Watermelon is one of the most loved summer fruits in India. It has a vibrant red pulp and juicy texture and contains about 90 per cent water.
Watermelon also has antioxidants, including vitamin C and amino acids. It’s good for skin and digestive health.
Meanwhile, muskmelon has a sweet taste and orange or light green pulp. Also called cantaloupe, the summer fruit has vitamins A and C, which are good for vision, skin and the immune system.
While watermelon has a higher water content, muskmelon is good for overall nutrition.
In this battle of melons, there’s no winner. One should consume both fruits as per our liking of taste and preference.
