Rainbow meditation uses colours to promote relaxation. Each colour of the rainbow represents a different chakra in the body. This meditation technique draws you away from the hassles and stress of everyday life and helps calm your body and soul.

1. Root Chakra [Muladhara]

This is the first chakra and its colour is red. It signifies health, home, safety, trust and abundance.

2. Sacral Chakra [Svadhisthana]

This is the second chakra in rainbow meditation and is orange in colour. This chakra indicates desire, creativity, sexuality and pleasure.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra [Manipura]

This chakra is yellow in colour and signifies determination, ego, and self-discipline.

4. Heart Chakra [Anahata]

This is the fourth chakra and is green in colour. It represents love, gratitude and empathy.

5. Throat Chakra [Vishuddha]

Throat chakra is blue in colour and signifies honesty, communication and authenticity.

6. Third Eye Chakra [Ajna]

This is the sixth chakra and indicates self-realisation, imagination and intuition.

7. Crown Chakra [Sahasrara]

The colour of the seventh chakra is purple or white. It represents faith, wisdom and awareness.

One of the most effective methods to access the frequency of each chakra is to meditate on the colours of the chakras. It helps us to tune the consciousness of the body and increase our sensitivity to it.
