If you’re starting with raw peanuts, roast them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.
Add the roasted peanuts to a food processor or high-powered blender. Blend the peanuts for about 4-5 minutes, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides. It will go through stages: crumbly, thick paste, and finally smooth butter as the oils release.
Once the peanuts have become smooth, you can add honey or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter peanut butter. Blend again for about 30 seconds.
Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor if using unsalted peanuts.
Transfer your homemade peanut butter into an airtight jar. It can be stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 weeks.
