Don't Ignore These 6 Heat Stroke Symptoms

Heat stroke is a severe heat-related illness that requires immediate medical attention. It occurs when the body's temperature regulation system fails and body temperature rises to dangerous levels. Here are the primary symptoms of heat stroke:

High Body Temperature

A core body temperature of 104°F (40°C) or higher is a key sign of heat stroke.

Altered Mental State or Behaviour

Confusion, agitation, slurred speech, irritability, delirium, seizures, or coma.

Hot, Dry Skin or Profuse Sweating

Skin may feel hot and dry to the touch, though it can also be moist if heat stroke is caused by strenuous exercise.

Nausea and Vomiting

You may feel sick to your stomach or vomit.

Flushed Skin and Rapid Breathing

The skin may turn red as body temperature increases. Breathing may also become shallow and quick.

Racing Heart Rate

The pulse may increase significantly because of the stress on the heart with a throbbing headache.
