When choosing personal hygiene products, it is important to know whether they suit our skin. If you are confused between bar soap and liquid soap, here is what you need to know:

Many people prefer liquid soap as they believe that shared use of bar soap can transmit bacteria and contaminate the soap.

However, studies have determined that while the bacteria can be transferred to bar soap, it does not transfer to the skin or spread disease, making it safe for use.

Some bar soap can have a drying effect on the skin when compared to liquid soap. This is because they have a higher pH level, which can dry sensitive skin.

Many bar soaps have deodorising abilities, which can be harsh on sensitive skin, especially for women. More liquid soaps contain moisturisers, which are gentler on the skin, than bar soaps.

Some people can get allergies from fragrant soaps. While it is difficult to find a liquid soap free of fragrance, more fragrance-free options are available in bar soaps.

Bar soap can provide exfoliation better than liquid soap. While some liquid soaps have exfoliating properties, they must be used with a loofah or sponge.

Both bar soap and liquid soap can vary depending on their ingredients. Which one you choose is ultimately your personal preference.
