South Indian cuisine is renowned for its variety of chutneys, which are typically served as accompaniments to dishes like dosa, idli, and vada. Here are some types of South Indian chutneys you can try making at home:

Coconut Chutney

Blend fresh coconut, green chillies, ginger, roasted chana dal, salt, and tamarind with a little water to make a smooth paste. Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chillies.

Tomato Chutney

Sauté onions, garlic, and red chillies in oil until golden. Add tomatoes and cook until soft. Blend into a smooth paste. Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and urad dal.
