Consuming tea or coffee after a meal is tempting but can affect us negatively. Here are six side effects of drinking tea or coffee after a meal:

Impaired Iron Absorption

Tea contains compounds like tannins that hinder the absorption of non-heme iron (the type of iron found in plant-based foods). This could be a concern for individuals with iron deficiency anaemia.

Digestive Issues

Caffeine in tea and coffee can stimulate gastric acid production, leading to indigestion or heartburn, especially for those prone to digestive issues.

Insomnia or Disrupted Sleep

The caffeine content in tea and coffee is a stimulant that can interfere with sleep. Consuming it after a meal, especially in the evening might lead to difficulties falling asleep or disrupted sleep patterns.

Reduced Nutrient Absorption

Tea and coffee contain compounds that interfere with the absorption of certain minerals, such as calcium and zinc, impacting overall nutrient absorption.

Culture & History Tour

Goa is more than just beaches. It has some great cultural and historical attractions.

Stained Teeth

Both tea and coffee leave stains on teeth due to their pigments. Enjoying the brew after a meal might increase the likelihood of teeth discolouration.
