Attach the wick to the bottom of a container using a wick sticker or a dab of hot glue. Use a wick holder or chopsticks to keep the wick centred.
Use a double boiler to melt the wax. Fill the bottom pot with water and place the wax in the top pot. Heat the wax slowly, stirring occasionally, until it's fully melted.
Once the wax is melted, remove it from the heat. Add your fragrance oil and stir well to combine. If you want coloured candles, add the dye or crayon shavings and stir until evenly mixed.
Carefully pour the wax into your prepared containers. Leave a little space at the top. If necessary, adjust the wick to ensure it's centred.
Let the candles cool at room temperature for several hours or overnight. As the wax cools, it may shrink slightly. If this happens, you can top off the candle with a bit more melted wax.
For the best scent throw, let your candle cure for a few days to a week before burning.
Ensure your containers are heat-resistant, especially when using glass jars. Always monitor the temperature of the wax to avoid overheating, which can cause the fragrance to evaporate.
