It’s summer in the Indian subcontinent and you know what that means – heat stroke. Heat strokes can be dangerous if not taken care of immediately. From fever to dizziness and headache, there are multiple symptoms of a heat stroke. Here’s what you can do to save yourself in this scorching heat:
From noon to 3 pm, the sun is in its most harmful avatar. Avoid stepping out during these hours and do your chores in the mornings or evenings. Also, allow your body some time to adjust to temperature changes, when exiting one place and entering another.
Be it juice, coolers, smoothies, or just plain water – stock up on the liquids during the day. If possible, use electrolytes pre-mix and add that to the water to keep water in your body in check.
Using a good sunscreen that suits your skin type is important and even more important is to apply to every part of the body that will be exposed to the sun when you walk out.
While you might have heard this one many times before but this actually helps. When you wear breathable and organic fabrics, you let your body breathe, which is very important during peak summer. It helps your body to perspire and cool off.
Stick to simple food that is cooked fresh. If you prefer cold style, stick to salads or sandwiches but ditch the oily, fried snacks since they are difficult to digest during summer.
