Are you someone who often has a sour taste in your mouth? Does it happen more often between meals and is your appetite suffering because of that? These are some reasons behind that sour taste:

Dehydration

The most common reason why you have a sour taste in your mouth is dehydration. In some cases, drinking water isn’t enough. Drink water and if that isn’t enough, add electrolytes or use some pre-mix with the essential elements that our regular filtered water lacks in.

Smoking

Another common cause is smoking. It’s not only bad for your lungs but it dulls your sense of taste and leaves an unpleasant taste in your mouth.

Infections

If you’ve been sick for sometime, that too can take the taste away and leave a bitter/sour taste in your mouth. Reduce your chances of picking up a bug or getting an infection by washing your hands often.

Medicines

If you are using too many medicines, those too can leave a sour taste in your mouth.

Age-related Symptoms

As we age, our taste buds shrink and become less sensitive. This can affect your sense of taste, leaving a sour taste in between meals.
