5 Animals That Can Change Gender Naturally

Some animals can change their sex naturally – either because of changing weather and circumstances or for reproductive flexibility. Here are some animals with gender fluidity.

Clownfish

The Nemo fish with orange white stripes are hermaphrodites – born one sex but able to switch to the other if necessary.

Banana Slug

Bright yellow in colour, these wormlike mollusks are simultaneous hermaphrodites, meaning they don't change back and forth, but use their male and female reproductive organs at the same time.

Cardinal
