Nutritional Content

Oats are rich in vital nutrients, protein and fibre. Poha has less protein and fibre but is high in carbs, iron and vitamin B1.

Digestibility

Oats are more filling because of their higher fibre content while poha is lighter and easier to digest.

Glycemic Index

Oats have a lower GI, helping maintain stable blood sugar levels whereas poha has a higher GI.

Calorie Count

Poha is a lighter option than oats because a serving of poha has only 120–130 calories, compared to 150–170 for oats.

Preparation Flexibility

Oats can be cooked with milk or water and topped with fruits or nuts. Poha can be made with vegetables and spices for added flavour.
