Coconut oil has many benefits for skin, hair, and overall health as it has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.
However, the coconut oil you are using could be adulterated. There are a few tips you can try to check if your coconut oil is pure.
In a glass of water, add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and leave it for 20-30 minutes. If the oil melts and mixes with water, it is adulterated. If it solidifies, it is pure.
Heat some coconut oil in a pan on low heat. If it starts frothing and emits a burnt smell, it is not pure.
Leave coconut oil in the fridge for about an hour. If you see a layer floating on the top, it is adulterated.
