Upma is a South Indian breakfast dish made with semolina, also known as rava and sooji. It is loaded with nutrition and is a healthy breakfast to start your day. Follow the steps to make delicious upma in a few minutes!
Heat some ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds to it until they splutter. Then add curry leaves, ginger, and green chilli to fry.
Add some chopped onion to the pan until it turns translucent. Then, add chopped onion and salt, and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Lower the heat then add 1.5- 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Add some ghee until it dissolves, then add rava and stir constantly to avoid any lumps.
Once the water has evaporated cover the pan with a lid and leave it on a low flame for 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and add some lemon juice for a zesty flavour. Garnish it with coriander and fried cashews if you like and serve!
