Add 4 to 5 cups of water in a saucepan. Bring the water to a gentle simmer, around 180-190°F.
Add a spoonful of vinegar to the water and crack an egg into a bowl.
Using a spoon, gently stir the water in one direction to create a gentle whirlpool.
Carefully add the egg to the centre of the saucepan and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Once cooked, serve on a toast with some salt and pepper.
