Heat olive oil in a pan, add finely chopped garlic and saute until fragrant.
Now add mashed tomatoes, stir, and allow to cook.
Add a pinch of sugar, oregano, basil, black pepper and salt.
Simmer the sauce for 15 to 20 minutes on low heat, or until it thickens.
For a smoother sauce, blend the mixture or leave it chunky, as preferred.
Your sauce is now ready, spread it over the pizza base, cover it with cheese and bake.
