Avocado is a rich, creamy fruit that is loaded with essential nutrients and is highly beneficial for health. Here is how you can grow this delicious fruit at home:
Choose a healthy, ripe avocado and remove its seed carefully. Clean the seed in lukewarm water. Identify the top and bottom of the seed and insert three or four toothpicks into it halfway up.
Place the avocado in a glass so that it balances on the rim with the support of toothpicks. Now fill the glass with water so that the bottom of the seed should be submerged an inch.
Place the glass in a warm, sunny spot but not directly in sunlight. The seed should germinate between 2 to 6 weeks.
Once the little plant starts growing, you can plant it in a pot. Remove the toothpicks and place the germinated seed halfway into the soil.
Water the soil and place it in a sunny spot. To take care of the plant prevent overwatering and place it in a sunlit area. Add fertilizer to your plant regularly to ensure it gets proper nutrients.
