Beetroot Chapati: Elevate Your Regular Chapati with Nutritious Twist

To begin, boil a small beetroot until it is tender. Peel the skin and blend it into a smooth paste.

Step 1

Now, in a mixing bowl, combine two cups of whole wheat flour, one teaspoon of carom seeds (optional), and salt to taste. Add the beetroot paste, then gradually add water while kneading until you form a soft dough.

Allow the dough to rest for 10-15 minutes. This will enable it to become softer and absorb the flavours.

Step 3

After that, divide the dough into small portions and roll them out into thin chapatis. 

Step 4

The chapatis should be cooked over medium heat on a tawa (griddle) until golden spots form on both sides. Serve warm.
