5 Watermelon Recipes to Beat the Heat

This summer season, try out these new watermelon recipes that will refresh you in no time. 

1. Margarita Watermelon

Take a watermelon and cut it into slices. Soak these slices overnight in tequila, lime juice, triple sec and refrigerate. The watermelon will absorb the ingredients of the margarita and you can enjoy a very unique kind of margarita that is not liquid. This can be served at parties as well. 

2. Watermelon Feta Salad 

This is a perfect summer salad recipe with the right balance of sweet and salt. You can have this as an appetizer or a side dish along with grilled chicken or tofu. Cut watermelon into bite-sized pieces, add cucumbers, mint, red onions and tangy feta. Mix this in a bowl and drizzle a little bit of olive oil and red wine vinegar.

3. Chocolate Dipped Watermelon 

A perfect summer snack to cater to your sweet cravings. Cut a watermelon into small triangular pieces. Melt a chocolate of your choice along with some butter and create a sauce. Dip the watermelon pieces into the sauce and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. You can now enjoy your chilled chocolate-dipped watermelon. 

4. Watermelon Salsa 

Your favourite chip dip but with a twist. Take finely chopped watermelon in a bowl, add mango, onion, lime, cilantro and salt. Mix this well in a bowl and enjoy your sweet and tangy salsa with tortilla chips. 

5. Watermelon Sorbet 

Take a de-seeded watermelon, add sugar and lemon juice to it and mix this in a blender. Make sure that the ingredients are well combined. Refrigerate this for about 3-4 hours and enjoy your chilled refreshing watermelon sorbet.
