Storing and preserving the freshness of herbs can be tricky. Here are five tips you can try to keep them fresh for longer:

Tip 1

Herbs like cilantro, mint, and parsley can be kept in the refrigerator to make them last up to several weeks.

Tip 2

Store them by dipping the stem in water in a glass container. Make sure they are not crammed so that they can breathe.

Tip 3

Adding lemon juice or vitamin C to the water that the stems are dipped in can help preserve the herbs for longer and prevent the growth of bacteria that may cause decay.

Tip 4

To dry the herbs, bind the stems and other parts that have airflow tightly, away from sunlight. After they dry, store them in an airtight container.

Tip 5

To preserve the freshness of the herbs for sauces or soups, you can freeze them in ice cubes with water after chopping.
