5 Easy Steps to Make Date and Apple Kheer

This easy recipe combines the richness of milk with the natural sweetness of dates and apples, creating a delightful dessert in just a few simple steps. Take a look:

Ingredients

Peel and chop two apples and 10-12 dates. Measure 1/2 cup basmati rice, four cups of milk, two tablespoons of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder and one tablespoon of ghee.

Rice Preparation

Rinse 1/2 cup rice under cold water until clear, soak for 15-20 minutes then drain.

Cooking the Kheer

Heat one tablespoon of ghee, saute the rice for 2-3 minutes, then add four cups of milk. Simmer until rice is cooked and milk thickens (20-25 minutes).

Adding Dates and Apples

Add chopped apples and dates to the kheer and cook for 10-15 minutes until the apples are tender.

Garnish and Serve

Stir in 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder, adjust sweetness if needed and garnish with nuts if desired. Serve warm or chilled.
