4 Steps To Make Chilli Flakes At Home

Choose your preferred type of dried chillies (such as red chilli peppers or cayenne). Ensure they are clean and free of stems.

Lightly toast the dried chillies in a dry pan over medium heat for a few minutes. This enhances their flavour and makes them easier to crush.

Once cooled, add the toasted chillies to a food processor, blender, or spice grinder, and pulse until they reach your desired flake size.

Transfer the chilli flakes to an airtight container and store them in a cool, dry place for up to a year to maintain freshness.

You can use these chilli flakes for the pastas, pizzas, soups and even toasts.
