Uncontacted tribes are groups of indigenous people who have little to no contact with the outside world. Here are six of such uncontacted tribes from around the world.

Sentinelese (North Sentinel Island, India)

The Sentinelese live on North Sentinel Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. They are known for their hostile nature towards outsiders. The Indian government has declared the island off-limits to outsiders.

Moxihatetema, Brazil-Venezuela Border

This isolated tribe lives in the Yanomami Reserve on the border of Brazil and Venezuela. The Moxihatetema are at risk due to some external threats like illegal operations by gold miners who have wreaked havoc on the ecosystem of the reserve.

Mashco-Piro (Peru)

The Mashco-Piro people live in the remote areas of the Peruvian Amazon. They have had some contact with other indigenous groups, but generally avoid outsiders.

Yaifo, Papua New Guinea

The Yaifo tribe generally avoided contact with the outsiders until one British explorer generated a lot of buzz by going missing during an expedition in an attempt to contact them.

Ayoreo (Paraguay)

The Ayoreo people reside in the Gran Chaco region of Paraguay and Bolivia. Some groups remain uncontacted and have avoided contact with the outside world due to past violent encounters and encroachments on their land.
