Ashwatthama, son of Dronacharya, is believed to be immortal due to a curse. According to the Mahabharata, Ashwatthama was cursed by Lord Krishna to roam the earth for 3,000 years in extreme pain. Ashwatthama was punished by Lord Krishna for killing the sons of the Pandavas.
According to several Hindu legends, Lord Hanuman is still alive. He is considered to be one of the seven ‘Chiranjeevis’ or immortals in Hindu mythology. It is believed that Lord Rama blessed him with immortality.
Although Vibhishan was an asura (demon), he joined Lord Ram’s army during the war of Lanka. Just like Hanuman, Lord Ram blessed Vibhishan with immortality to guide people to the path of dharma and truth.
Lord Vishnu’s sixth avatar, Parshuram, is said to be immortal due to a boon granted to him by Lord Shiva. He is widely revered as a great warrior, a sage, and a teacher.
Mahabali, a virtuous and mighty king of the asura (demon) race, was granted immortality by Lord Vishnu and allowed to reside in the netherworld (Patal). It is believed that he returns to Earth once every year. The day is celebrated as Onam in Kerala.
