With 973 Runs in IPL 2016, Virat Kohli’s record stands tall for now with Shubman Gill being the closest to reach the tally. However, at least in the 16-match IPL season per team, the record looks unlikely to be broken.
At the time of writing, Virat has completed 17 years at Royal Challengers Bengaluru and looks set to continue for another three years at the franchise.
With 8004 runs after the completion of the IPL 2024, Virat stands at the top of the summit for the most runs scored. Interestingly, he is likely to continue for at least another six years which could make his record out of reach.
With 140 matches as captain of RCB, Virat remains the most successful captain in the franchise's history. However, despite this record, he could not help RCB win the title, and he helped them to the finals twice.
With 14 playoff matches played and 708 runs scored in the 17 seasons, Virat remains unfortunate to have never won the IPL.
