When it comes to choosing a medical college, high-ranking NEET students prefer government colleges, revealed National Medical Commission (NMC) data on over 1 lakh MBBS admissions across India in 2023-24. Here are the top five picks:

Maulana Azad Medical College

The Delhi college tops the chart with the highest median rank of 1,112, meaning 50% of those who took admission here scored above this rank.

Banaras Hindu University’s Institute of Medical Sciences

In second place is BHU’s Institute of Medical Sciences with a median rank of 1,325.

Vardhman Mahavir Medical College

The college which is attached to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital is in third position with a median rank of 2,718.

SMS Medical College

The Jaipur based SMS Medical College was the fourth choice with a median rank of 2,886.

King George’s Medical University

Wrapping up this list in fifth place is Lucknow’s King George’s Medical University, with a median rank of 3,095.
