The second phase of voting in the world’s biggest election ended on April 26 after millions of voters across 13 states and Union Territories in India cast their votes. Overall, Phase 2 recorded approximately 60.96 per cent voter turnout till 9:00 pm (local time).

The northeastern state of Tripura topped the list yet again with the highest approximate voter turnout after it did so in the first phase. The state also finished its two phase voting for two of its parliamentary seats.
In the state of Manipur, 13 polling stations in eight hill districts saw around 77.18 per cent voter turnout.
The state held voting for three seats – Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker – in the second phase of the election and witnessed the third-highest voter turnout. The state also witnessed the death of two police officers deployed for poll duty in two separate incidents.
In the second phase of voting, voters in seven Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh headed to the polls but only 57.76 per cent exercised their franchise.
The state yet again grappled with low voter turnout after it witnessed lowest turnout in the first phase. Voters in five constituencies headed to the polls in the second phase, where a total of 50 candidates were in the fray.
The state of UP witnessed the lowest voter turnout in the second phase after voting was held across eight parliamentary constituencies which are home to more than 16.7 million voters.
