Heartbreaking Pictures from Odisha’s Train Tragedy

On Friday (June 02) evening, a collision of three trains claimed lives of at least 288 individuals and some 900 others sustained injuries. Railway officials claimed that the Coromandel Express crashed into the Howrah Superfast Express.
Locals in Odisha’s Balasore district queued up all night to donate blood for the wounded victims. Pictures were released of people praying for those who lost their lives.
Odisha’s I & PR Department in a tweet stated that some 200 ambulances, 45 Mobile Health Teams, and 50 additional doctors were deployed for the rescue.
Chief ministers across India paid their condolences to the victims and their families. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik ordered a one-day mourning. Nepal’s PM and Taiwanese President also paid their condolences for the loss.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the accident site and met the injured victims in hospitals.
