DRDO Showcases Zorawar

Jointly developed by Defense Research and Development Authority (DRDO) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Limited, Zorawar is a 25-tonne light battle tank, developed and made ready for trials in only two years. 

Zorawar: Strong and Powerful

The tank is named after 19th-century Dogra General Zorawar Singh, who led the armed operations in Ladakh and Western Tibet. Zorawar in hindi means strong and powerful.

Lotus stems are a nutritional powerhouse, packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. They provide a good dose of vitamin C, vitamin B, iron, and potassium, which can contribute to improved overall health.

When Will It Be Inducted?

According to DRDO chief Dr Samir V Kamath, Zorawar is expected to be inducted into the Indian Army by the year 2027 after all trials, currently underway in Hazira, Gujarat.

USP of Zorawar

Zorawar with its lightweight and amphibious capabilities can travel through steep climbs in mountains and cross rivers and other water bodies relatively easily than the heavy-weight T-72 and T-90 tanks.
