Gujarati Gathiya is a beloved crispy snack often enjoyed with tea. It’s a crunchy, savoury treat made from chickpea flour and spices, and is perfect for munching anytime. Take a look at these five steps to prepare this at home:

Prepare Dough

Mix chickpea flour, rice flour, ajwain, cumin, turmeric, chilli powder, baking soda, and salt. Add water to form a stiff dough.

Heat Oil

Heat oil in a pan on medium heat for deep frying.

Shape Gathiyas

Fill the dough in a gathiya-maker or roll it into small cylinders. Press into the hot oil.

Fry

  Fry on low-medium heat until golden and crispy.

Drain and Cool

 Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and let cool and store in an air-tight container.
