How to Make Corn Dumplings at Home

Make delicious corn dumplings at home by following these six simple steps:

Step 1

In a saucepan, add 1 cup cornmeal, 2 cups water, and 2 teaspoons salt. Bring it to a boil and keep stirring until the mixture cooks and becomes thick. Reduce heat and stir for about 3 minutes.

Step 2

Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons butter, 3/4 cup chopped whole kernel corn, 1 teaspoon finely chopped onion, and a little pepper.

Step 3

Stir well then let it rest for about 3 minutes. Add a beaten egg and mix well.

Step 4

Remove the mixture from the heat and start rolling into balls with wet hands.

Step 5

In a utensil boil about 2 litres of chicken or vegetable broth. Add dumplings to it and cover. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes.

Step 5

Insert a toothpick in the dumplings to check if they are cooked. Serve!
