Jalebi is an Indian sweet known for its crispy texture and syrupy sweetness. Take a look at this simple recipe to make this at home:
Combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, yoghurt and water to create a smooth, thick batter. Allow it to rest for 4 to 6 hours.
In a pan, combine sugar and water, adding a pinch of saffron and cardamom. Boil until the syrup reaches a one-string consistency.
In a deep pan, heat oil for frying until it’s hot but not smoking.
Fill a piping bag or squeeze bottle with the batter. Squeeze into the hot oil in circular shapes, frying until golden brown.
Remove jalebis from the oil, briefly drain, and immediately immerse them in the warm sugar syrup. Let them soak for a few seconds before serving. Enjoy your crispy jalebi.
