Leading the group at the Cannes Film Festival, Goro Miyazaki said in a recent interview that his father is staying quiet about his future project.

During his press conference in Cannes, Goro Miyazaki was asked about his father’s plans for The Boy and the Heron. Under Hayao Miyazaki’s direction, the Oscar-winning film has evolved into a brand-new masterpiece.

Although Goro Miyazaki claims he hasn’t been informed anything about the movie pitch, previous reports have stated that Hayao is eager to make more films.

“He won’t tell anyone what they are. Absolutely no one,” Goro said about his father’s movie pitches. The Studio Ghibli executive claimed that as soon as The Boy and the Heron’s production was completed, Hayao started brainstorming ideas for a new film.

“After spending seven years on an animated movie, the director, and the staff as a whole, are incredibly exhausted,” Goro said. “I think the studio needs some time to recover.”
