Met Gala has a lot of rules that every attendee must follow. While some are understandable, others are a little bizarre, but all of them are mandatory.
No phones are allowed inside the venue, which means that celebs can't take selfies on the red carpet.
Children are not allowed to attend the Met Gala. Anyone under the age of 18 cannot attend the annual gala.
Attendees are only allowed to sit on their assigned seats and there are strict seating assignments.
Parsley, onion, and garlic are reportedly not allowed at the Met Gala because Wintour doesn't want the attendees to have garlic or onion breath, or have parsley stuck on their teeth.
Smoking is not allowed inside or outside the museum. Smoking is banned in New York City in public places and the same rule applies to the Met Gala.
Attendees cannot touch the exhibits. The Met's website states, "Please do not touch the artwork, frames, platforms, labels, display cases, or anything used to protect the art."
