First and foremost, choose the correct sunscreen. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. If you're prone to sunburn, you can use a higher SPF.
To avoid clumped particles, shake the sunscreen well before applying it to your face.
It's a big no-no to apply sunscreen on a dirt face. Hence, it is recommended to wash, tone and moisturise before applying sunscreen. You must also apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before stepping out of your home.
Instead of rubbing the sunscreen into your skin, apply a thick layer to get maximum protection.
Re-apply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours if staying outdoors for an extended period of time.
