Bloating is caused by weak digestive fire & impaired ‘Samana Vata’ functioning.
Excess intake of incompatible foods, stale, processed foods, raw, uncooked foods and chronic stress are common causes of bloating.
Tip 1 - Use a pinch of ‘ajwain’ powder on first morsel of food. Ajwain is Vata balancing and is anti-spasmodic which relieves stomach pain associated with bloating.
Tip 2 – Don’t rush while having meals and remember to chew your food properly. Remember, your stomach doesn’t have teeth!
Tip 3 – Don’t let stress from your head reach your tummy. Soothe your mind and tummy with deep belly breaths before eating.
Tip 4 - Sip warm fennel water with meals. Fennel is a carminative and also aids in digestion.
Tip 5 - Eat warm cooked foods with complex carbs or prefer eating freshly cut salads. Go for simple preparations without much spices.
