As Tom Cruise readies himself for yet another jaw-dropping stunt that he will perform at the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony on August 11, here’s a look at 7 times Tom Cruise left us stunned with death-defying stunts.

3. Iron

Iron is important for oxygen supply to tissues and hence iron-rich food items like spinach, pumpkin seeds, raisins, prunes, legumes, lentils, and leafy greens which are good for healthier skin should be part of daily diet.

Top Gun (Parachute Scene)

In 1986’s Top Gun, we almost lost Tom Cruise to a parachute scene. For a scene, Tom is ejected from the jet and is parachuted into the water but it didn’t go as planned and the actor started sinking because of water building up in his parachute. Tom would have died had the crew not lifted him.

The Last Samurai (Samurai Sword Scene)

In The Last Samurai, Tom Cruise avoided death by just an inch. For a scene in the 2003 film, there was a fight sequence between Cruise and Hiroyuki Sanada. Both were riding mechanical horses, and one was to stop before Sanada hits Cruise with a real samurai sword. But the horse didn’t stop and Cruise came within an inch of the sword.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (Skyscraper Scene)

In the 2011 movie, Tom Cruise climbed Dubai’s 163-floor Burj Khalifa and he went running up and down the building with only a wire keeping him from falling.

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation (Plane Scene)

For his 2015 film, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, took it a step further as he dangled in the sky, hanging on to the outside of an aeroplane, Airbus 400.

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One (Speed-Flying Scene)

For the 7th film in Mission Impossible series, Tom Cruise did what director Christopher McQuarrie called “one of the most dangerous sports in the world”--Speed-flying, which is similar to paragliding, combines elements of parachute swooping to allow people to fly at high speeds down mountainsides.

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One (Motorbiking Off a Cliff Scene)

In the same film, Tom Cruise also did the impossible – riding a motorbike off a cliff and parachuting down to safety. Tom did a total of six takes of one of the “biggest stunts in cinema history.”
