The Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll, Tina Turner passed away on Wednesday night. She had several health issues including cancer, stroke and kidney failure in the recent past.

She rose to fame as the lead singer of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. She was known for her energetic stage performances and husky, powerful vocals.
Turner won 12 Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 as a solo artist.
Tina came close to starring as Goddess Kali in a Merchant-Ivory film and visited India for inspiration for the role. She visited Varanasi, and went to temples in South India.
Apart from her legendary singing, she was also a fashion queen. She rocked in every avatar, from sequined mini-dresses to mod leather miniskirts and completely sheer jumpsuits.
