Now that we are on episode 5 of House of the Dragon season 2 and a lot has happened including an epic dragon battle, here’s a little get to know your dragon series.
Syrax is bonded to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen. Syrax is currently with Rhaenyra in Dragonstone.
Bonded to Prince Daemon Targaryen, Caraxes is the most vicious and fierce dragon of the present. Much like his rider, he is always ready to go to war. He is currently stationed with Daemon at Harrenhal.
The old granny of all dragons, Vhagar is the largest and oldest living dragon of Westeros. Aemond Targaryen claimed Vhagar and is often seen causing havoc to the Blacks. Vhagar was previously bonded to Laena but after her death, Aemond claimed Vhagar.
Also known as The Red Queen, Meleys is smart, swift and one of the more experienced dragons with the Blacks.
As the name suggests, Sunfyre is the most beautiful of all dragons with scales shining bright like molten gold under the sun. Sunfyre is bonded to King Aegon II Targaryen.
Vermithor is also known as the Bronze Fury. The dragon once belonged to King Jahaerys, Rhaenrya's great-grandfather. He is unclaimed at the moment and has remained in his lair on Dragonstone since the former King’s death.
We barely get to see Dreamfyre because her rider Halaena Targaryen is rarely seen stepping out or riding but she’s one of the old and experienced dragons.
Baela Targaryen has bonded with Moondancer. We last saw the pair when she was patrolling the King’s Landing exit and found Ser Criston Cole making a move towards Riverrun.
Currently unclaimed, Seasmoke was bonded with Laenor Velaryon. In whole of season 2 so far, Seasmoke appears distraught and is heard crying out in the sky because of loneliness. Laenor faked his death in season 1, episode 7.
Vermax is Rhaenyra’s first born, Jacaerys Velaryon's dragon. He hatched from an egg placed in Jace's cradle when he was a baby.
Arrax belongs to Lucerys Velaryon, Rhaenyra's son and Jace's younger brother.
There are also three wild and unclaimed dragons.
