Disney Turns 100: Iconic Cartoon Characters 

Over the years, Disney has given us countless cartoon characters, whether it’s cute Mickey Mouse or our favourite princesses like Snow White, Cinderella, and others.  

As Disney turns 100, let’s take a look at the seven most iconic and enduring characters that we all grew up watching. 

Mickey Mouse 

Mickey Mouse is undoubtedly one of the most beloved cartoons created by Walt Disney. The cute mouse who wears red shots made his debut in 1928, and decades later, it’s still one of the most beloved cartoon characters. 

Snow White 

The sweet and innocent Snow White was the very first princess of the Walt Disney universe. Released in 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first animated feature film. 

Ariel 

Disney introduced us to the underwater world of little princess Ariel, who is very fascinated with the human world, and one day she ends up falling in love with a human prince, Eric. 

Aladdin 

Based on the Arabic folktale, the story of a poor boy, beautiful princess Jasmine, a genie, and their fight against the devil. Over the years, the story of Alladin has been retold several times with different perspectives.

Winnie the Pooh 

The sweet Winnie the Pooh is one of the most loved childhood characters, whose cute little adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood we all have enjoyed and laughed at. 

Cinderella 

Another beloved princess in Disney World is Cinderella. Through the years, the fairy tale story of a poor girl, her glass sandal, and finding a prince charming has transcended time, making every generation fall in love with her story. 

Maleficent 

Maleficent, aka Mistress of Evil, is the dark fairy of Disney World! She first appeared in the 1959 film Sleeping Beauty and went on to become the studio’s most iconic antagonist.
